Mission Ministries

"I will praise you, O Lord. among the nations, I will sing of you among the peoples." (Ps. 57:9)

In order that more people can hear the gospel around the world, Jireh Fund started to support mission work outside Hong Kong in prayer and financially beginning 1993. In 1999, Jireh Fund joined the Hong Kong Association of Christian Missions as an affiliated member. In September the same year, we became the sending agency of Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Won-chor Wong to Kyrgyzstan, and we began to hold a monthly prayer meeting for them.

Christian Jireh Church in Kyrgyzstan

In August 2000, Christian Jireh Church was officially established in Kyrgyzstan. Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Wong were being sent to preach the gospel of the Kingdom to the people in Kyrgyzstan, especially the Chinese. In April 2002, Rev. Wong retired and his wife took over the job. In August the same year, a short-term missionary was sent to assist in the field ministry. In 2003, Mrs. Wong and the short-term missionary completed their term and left the field accordingly.

As we face the dilemma of whether to continue our ministries in Kyrgyzstan, we sought the Lord in prayer. God gave His word: "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to Jireh what is Jireh's." Therefore, our General Secretary and staff visited the ministry field in Kyrgyzstan in December 2003, exploring the possibility of reopening the Christian Jireh Church. We would like to thank God for leading us so that Jireh Fund was able to send a missionary to Kyrgyzstan in 2005 again to prepare for the reopening of the church and the pastoral ministry work of the local Chinese believers. In early 2007, after garnering support from all sides, the Christian Jireh Church was finally granted verbal approval from the Kyrgyzstan government to be the only Chinese church that was officially registered.

It Is Written: The Lord Wants to Bring Back Israel

In November 2004, we were compiling a prayer handbook which was written to nurture the growth of spiritual life. At the time of writing, it was revealed to our General Secretary that the name of this prayer handbook was to be called "It Is Written". At the same time, the Lord enabled her to understand that He wanted to use this prayer handbook to look for the Israelites residing in Russia so that they could return to Israel. When this prayer handbook is published in the future, whenever the Israelites come across the title, it would remind them of their past that they once had God in their history as well as the words God had spoken to their ancestors.

We would like to thank God for providing us with several locals in Kyrgyzstan who specialize in Bible translation. They have been invited to translate the prayer handbooks from English into Russian as well as the Kyrgyz languages. Presently, the translation of the whole set of four books by the title, "It Is Written", "Prayer Handbook for New Believers" and "Pray in the Name of the Lord" – Prayer Handbook in Keeping Watch for the Country and its People has been completed. The local pastors were eager to help in distributing the prayer handbooks to the local churches. In May and October 2006, May 2007 and May 2008, they even brought these prayer handbooks to various churches in the southern part of the country for the purpose of promoting the ministry of the "All Nations Prayer Net".

Rev. Kim, the representative of the "Do This" Million-Hour All Nations Prayer Net in Kyrgyzstan, had invited the churches in the southern cities to organize the "Global Day of Prayer" meeting in collaboration with Jireh Fund on 4 June 2006 and 11 May 2008. Rev. Tony Lo was the speaker and shared the message and vision of the Prayer Net.
