Journey of Praying for Hong Kong
2004
| January |
The Lord gave us the word "pass over us", with which we used to proclaim the name of the Lord so that all viruses would pass over us. In addition, in the face of potential spread of the virus among humans, the Lord gave us the word "according to their kinds" as said during the creation of the world. We then prayed using this word and in the Lord's name commanded the viruses to be contained among livestock and the birds according to their kinds, so that mankind might be kept from being affected. This is how we prayed to thwart such panic among human beings. |
| January 21 - January 22 | Due to frequent occurrences of sacrificial offering activities during the Lunar New Year, we held "Proclaiming Our Lord as King" - a Lunar New Year prayer meeting from the evening of Lunar New Year's Eve to the early morning of Lunar New Year's Day. We encouraged brothers and sisters to be alert and pray. |

The Completion of the Third Million-Hour PrayerThe Million-Hour prayer which lasted for 15 months was completed at the end of March. |
| April 3 |
Launch of the Fourth Million-Hour PrayerIn early December 2003, we learned about the following Scriptural verses that would serve as our guide for the fourth Million-Hour prayer:
|
| June 30 - July 1 | "Seek Peace for the City" - a 24-hour overnight prayer meeting was held. We proclaimed that our Lord reigned as King over Hong Kong, granting tranquility and strength to those in the city. |
| October | The General Secretary was invited by the Media Evangelism Limited to lead the concluding prayer during a television program called "A Shining Life", with a total of 52 broadcasts. It was hoped that both believers and non-believers might learn more about prayer. |
| November 7 | Jireh Fund and the Media Evangelism Limited jointly organized a testimony sharing and prayer meeting at Chater Garden. Concurrently, the "Pray for Those in Authority" prayer handbook was also published to pray for the government officials as well as for the cultivation of good character among the leaders of the new generation. |
| December 26: | The Tsunami in South Asia caused a major catastrophe of the century. There were more than 120,000 deaths in just two days with dead bodies strewing around, people weeping and wailing everywhere. On December 28, the United Nations issued a warning that there might be an epidemic outbreak within days due to water pollution caused by unattended decaying corpses. So we called on the Lord in unity to stop the epidemic outbreak. In just about 50 hours we published and distributed 50,000 copies of "Only Salvation" prayer handbook to different churches so that more Christians might be able to call on the Lord on behalf of South Asia. At the same time we published "Lord, Only You Can Bear this Burden" prayer handbook to pray for the crushed spirits of countless people affected by the catastrophe. |
| December 31 - January 1, 2005 | "Victory in the Lord" - a 24-hour overnight prayer meeting was held. |
