"The earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Isa. 11:9b)

The First Prayer Handbook

On 1 July 1998, well before the launch of the Million-Hour All Nations Prayer Movement, God had already revealed that we should use prayer handbooks as our major means of propagating prayer. It was also that time the "100-day 24-hour prayer-chain event for the economy and social living of Hong Kong" was held. Every prayer begins with the proclamation of the word of God and uses the Scripture as the content and basis of prayer. As a result of the encouragement and assistance offered from the Hong Kong Campus Crusade for Christ, we compiled the separate sheets of prayer into prayer handbooks. In March 1999, the first prayer handbook was published and it was called "Lord, Teach us How To Pray!" One Million-hour Worship, Praise and Declaration Prayer for Hong Kong Prayer Handbook.

Prayer Campaign + Prayer Handbooks: A Powerful Method of Transmission

During the advancement of the million-hour prayer movement, we continuously pondered how we could gather brothers and sisters to pray in unity. God led us to understand the following: although the attendance in church prayer meetings might be low, this does not mean that the believers do not pray. It was simply because they could not come together at a specified time to church for prayer. For some their habit is to pray in the morning, while others pray in the evening... But how could we enter into unity in prayer by gathering all these prayers prayed at different times? The combination of a prayer campaign and prayer handbooks has helped to resolve this problem. Signing up for different prayer time slots can be a way to collect these prayers hours. Prayer handbooks have helped everyone to pray in unity .

During the million-hour prayer movement inauguration conference on 6 October 2000, Rev. Wang stated that the use of prayer handbooks in launching a prayer movement is a powerful method in propagating prayer. This can enable more people to participate and join together to pray in unity. Pastors who have used prayer handbooks before have indicated that it is very moving to see the congregation pray and proclaim the word of God in unity.

Peoples Calling on the Name of the Lord with Purified Lips

As of March 2008, we have published over 200 prayer handbooks for different ages and needs, with 2.2 million copies being distributed over the past nine years. In addition, some of the prayer handbooks have been translated into different languages for use by brothers and sisters in different regions and countries, including English, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Russian and the Kyrgyz language.

Some brothers and sisters used to think that prayer is an arduous task because they lack the words. Now that the use of prayer handbooks has become more common, a daily half-an-hour prayer time is no longer a difficult task for these brothers and sisters. What is more encouraging is the fact that they have now become accustomed to using the word of God to pray, and their prayers are more powerful and full of faith. We would like to thank the Lord for His amazing work. He desires to build up the prayer lives of these brother and sisters.
