Pray in Unity for the City

A rabbi called Jesus was riding on a colt entering into Jerusalem. The prophet Zechariah prophesied about this magnificent moment. At that time, "many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!' " (Mk. 11:8-10) "Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples!' 'I tell you,' he replied, 'if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.' " (Lk. 19:39-40) From these two very different responses, it appears certain people have missed the opportunity to welcome the great king. Today, have we missed any significant moments in our lives?

I believe it has been a year since the writing of the prayer handbook for Olympics has begun. I deeply feel that this is such a special moment in history not only because of Olympics itself, but because China is the host of Olympics. For many Chinese in this generation, this may well perhaps be the only occasion to witness the Olympics in their lifetime. Such a significant moment is surely not to be missed. During this time of waiting, the national stadium is built and it is also called the "bird's nest". When I looked at it for the first time, I thought that the Lord was speaking to mankind, "You will return!" Mankind is like birds that have flown away from home and today they have returned to their homes. I also came across the national aquatics center which is also called "water cube". As it is recorded in Revelations, it is as clear as crystal and looked like a sea of glass before the throne. I feel deeply loved for the Lord truly loves the Chinese. The Lord has bestowed intelligence upon people so that they could come up with such amazing designs. Hallelujah!

Afterwards, as I talked with an intercessor, he shared how he has been praying for the Olympics for seven years. What he did greatly encouraged me. Therefore, we have written this prayer handbook so that we can be in accord with God's will during this crucial moment.

We have begun the 100-day Olympics countdown on April 30. During these 100 days, we would publish three to four prayer handbooks based on the situation. Both the traditional and simplified Chinese version will also be published.
